BIOSKETCH
Dr. Melissa Ramtahal is a Research Technician at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, School of Health Sciences. Her research focuses on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), infectious disease epidemiology, tuberculosis, and public health microbiology. She has contributed to studies investigating antimicrobial-resistant bacteria in environmental and animal reservoirs, particularly within a One Health framework, with publications on Escherichia coli, Salmonella surveillance, and food safety in South Africa.
